ABOUT HOLLOWAY

Holloway was the home of Florence Nightingale and the family home is now a home for the elderly. The TV series Peak Practice is also filmed here. It is untouched by time and enables visitors to experience authentic village life but is close to all amenities

Holloway is a beautiful conservation village which is ideally located to explore the beautiful Peak District and tourist attractions. Holloway has a Post Office, which also sells newspapers and food, and a cosy pub which sells food, which is two minutes walk from the chapel, and a famous high class butcher. Local ladies also cook within the butcher’s shop and home cooked ready prepared fresh meals are sold there. The bus stop is two minutes walk from the chapel, and the local train station is one and a half miles away. Much of the woodlands around Holloway are protected by the National Trust. There are many woodland walks where visitors can see squirrels and birds in their natural habitat or just enjoy the local scenery.
